As fundraisers and supporters of education, we’re committed to transforming lives. During this year’s conference, we have the unique opportunity to invest in our community and support low-income families by simply grabbing a rag and a roll of tape. In between sessions or before taking off for lunch /dinner on your own, conference attendees are encouraged to join their colleagues in cleaning and repairing 500+ books for the Children’s Book Bank.
Portland-based Children’s Book Bank (CBB) strives to improve the literacy skills of low-income children by giving them books of their own before they reach kindergarten. To do this, the CBB collects, repairs, and packages used books, which are then made available to families in need, free of charge. Annually, the CBB serves more than 7,500 families. Imagine the impact you could make by donating ten minutes of your time this year.
